Torii Hunter
Torii Hunter is a two-time Major League All-Star, who has been the recipient of eight consecutive Gold Glove Awards. He is a 12-year Major League veteran who spent his first 11 seasons with the Minnesota Twins, before signing with the Angels as a free agent prior to the 2008 season. A lifetime .272 hitter, with 213 home runs, 789 RBI and 145 stolen bases, in 2008, he played in 146 games with the Angels, batting .278 with 21 home runs, 78 RBI, and 19 stolen bases, in helping the Angels to the American League West Division Championship. He was the recipient of the 2007 Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award as the player in either league whose on-field performance and contributions to his community inspire others to higher levels of achievement. He also received the 2004 Carl R. Pohlad Award recognizing outstanding community service throughout the Upper Midwest, and has twice been nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award.
